Lakewood Ranch's 4A-Region 3 soccer final against Cape Coral has been rescheduled.
The Mustangs will instead host the Seahawks 7 p.m. Saturday.
The game was supposed to be played 7 p.m. tonight at Cape Coral, but per Florida High School Athletic Association rules, Lakewood Ranch should have been the host all along.
Rules state when two district runner-ups or champions meet in a regional final, the team on the bottom of the bracket is the host - unless that team was home for a regional semifinal, and the team on the top was not.
Lakewood Ranch, listed on top of the bracket for the regional final, traveled to Lutz Steinbrenner for a semifinal, while the Seahawks hosted Naples Golden Gate.
Saturday's winner advances to the state final four at Pepin Stadium on the campus of the University of Tampa. The Class 4A semifinal is scheduled for Thursday, with the winner of the Lakewood Ranch-Cape Coral game playing either Celebration or Land O'Lakes Sunlake.
All four teams are district runner-ups.
