LAKELAND - Lakewood Ranch's Kyle-Riley Hawkins is a state medalist.
After dropping his first-round bout Friday at The Lakeland Center, the 189-pound senior won three straight consolation matches to become the Mustangs' first medalist since Cory Monteforte in 2006.
Riley-Hawkins can finish as high as third and no lower than sixth, assuring him of a trip to the medal podium.
