Bradenton Christian's boys basketball team is the lone area squad standing after Thursday's regional quarterfinals.
The Panthers opened Class 1A-Region 2 play with a 60-53 win over Kissimmee Life Christian Academy. BCS stays home Tuesday, when it hosts Seffner Christian Academy in a Region 2 semifinal starting at 7 p.m.
The Panthers defeated SCA last Saturday to win the District 8 title. Tuesday's winner plays for the regional title Saturday.
Braden River, Lakewood Ranch and Southeast lost Thursday.
The Pirates fell at home to Tampa Jesuit 38-27, while the Mustangs lost 60-57 at Tampa Blake. And Southeast fell 59-54 to homestanding Fort Myers Bishop Verot.
