Live from Lakeland: How the medalists fared



LAKELAND - The consolation round of the state wrestling tournament has wrapped at The Lakeland Center.
In Class 3A, Manatee's Alex Doran (140 pounds) rebounded from his semifinal loss to score an 11-2 major decision over Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas' Brandon Pellecer to claim third place.
Doran pinned Miami Varela's Justin Vazquez in the consolation semifinals.
The senior will leave Manatee with a program-record 168 wins and four state medals - he won a state title as a freshman, was a runner-up the following year and placed fourth last season.
Travis Fulk (135) injury defaulted in the consolation semifinals and finals but managed to finish sixth.
In Class 2A, Kyle Riley-Hawkins of Lakewood Ranch finished third at 189 pounds. After losing his first-round match Friday night, Riley-Hawkins won five straight matches, including a 5-1 win over Kissimmee Liberty's Aric Fernandez two clinch third place.
The senior finished the season with 42 wins.
