LAKELAND - Alex Doran is two wins away from a state title.
Doran, Manatee's senior 140-pounder, defeated Wellington's Jake Ferrara 17-9 in the Class 3A quarterfinals.
He returns to action 10 a.m. Saturday in the semifinals. Doran won a state title three years ago as a freshman.
Travis Fulk, the Hurricanes' 135-pounder, lost to J.Z. Williams of Flagler Palm Coast in the quarterfinals.
A senior, Fulk can still finish in the top six and earn a medal, beginning tonight with the second round of wrestlebacks.
Manatee's Quinn Tibbetts, a heavyweight, is awaiting his quarterfinal match.
