State wrestling: After Session One

LAKELAND - Manatee has four wrestlers in the quarterfinals of the state wrestling tournament at The Lakeland Center.
Ronny Whitt (103 pounds), Travis Fulk (135), Alex Doran (140) and Quinn Tibbetts (heavyweight) all won their first-round matches and are in the quarterfinals, which will begin following the first round of the consolation bracket this afternoon.
Hurricanes Donnie Jankowski (112) and Brett Barber (145) lost their opening-round matches, and will try and get to the medal round via the consolation bracket.
Manatee is fifth in the Class 3A team standings with 13 points.
In Class 2A, Braden River's Frank Bianco (135), as well as Lakewood Ranch's Evan Dipsiner(103), Blake Riley-Hawkins (119) and Kyle Riley-Hawkins (189) also lost in the first round and are in the consolation rounds.
