Palmetto graduate Ian Kitchell, a student at USF Sarasota-Manatee, has made USF's football team as a kicker/punter after trying out as a walk-on.
Kitchell was kicking with the Sarasota Millonaires when Darren Gambrell, USFSM's student affairs coordinator, passed some of Kitchell's game film to the coaches in Tampa.
According to a news release from USFSM, Kitchell has signed up to take classes at USF's main campus in Tampa this spring.
