Prep football: Canes touch down in Maryland

Manatee's football team arrived safely at Baltimore-Washington International Airport on Thursday night in anticipation of Friday's game at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Md.

The team's plane landed at exactly 8:30 p.m., and after making their way to the baggae claim and past a handful of cheering, camera-toting parents, the coaches and players hopped on two school buses - another bus was full of luggage and equipment - and made the 25-minute drive to nearby Laurel to the Holiday Inn Laurel West.

Waiting for them in the lobby were sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A and drinks.

Manatee coach Joe Kinnan, pictured above going over room assignments with some of his players, said his team will spend most of Friday watching film. The Canes had a walkthrough Thursday prior to flying out of Tampa.

Friday's game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
