Post 24 scores six in 9th, wins regional opener

The Post 24 Kirby Stewart baseball team scored six runs in the ninth inning Thursday afternoon to shock Puerto Rico in the first round of the American Legion Southeast Regional Tournament in Sumter, S.C.
Post 24, the Florida state champion, advances to play either Douglasville, Ga., or the host Sumter, S.C., team at about 7 p.m. Friday in the winner's bracket of the double-elimination tournament.
Post 24 led 4-2 after 1 1/2 innings but allowed Puerto Rico to score seven unanswered runs before rallying in its final at-bat.
