Prep wrestling: Palmetto's Christmas Clash scheduled for Saturday

Palmetto is hosting its first Palmetto High Christmas Clash on Saturday, a dual wrestling tournament featuring eight teams.
The field includes the host Tigers, Lakewood Ranch, Southeast, Booker, Sarasota, Sarasota Riverview, Sebring and Crystal River.
Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to wrap up at about 2 p.m., said Palmetto coach Bryan Wilkes.
It will be a busy winter for the Tigers, who host the Palmetto Duals on Jan. 12, a dual meet with Clearwater Central Catholic on Jan. 17 and the JV and varsity county championships Jan. 23 and 24.
