Bradenton Christan kicker/punter Austin Dumas will sign with Marshall University on Wednesday, said coach Allan Gerber.
Dumas is the school's first football player to sign with a Division I team - running back Chris Young walked on at UCF following the 2006-07 school year.
Dumas converted 37 of 39 point-after attempts and averaged 44.14 yards per punt. He also booted seven field goals, with a long of 41 yards, and graduates as the program's all-time leading scorer.
An All-Area First Team pick, Dumas helped Manatee County with the Brad Price Memorial PAL Bowl by kicking a career-best 49-yard field goal with 4:37 remaining in the fourth quarter. Manatee County defeated Sarasota County 10-9.
Dumas will sign 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in Wichers Auditorium.
I don't see a story about Jared Williams or Desmond Blue.... where are they going?
